MS ROBERTS BEAUTY ACADEMY IS ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN TITLE IV FUNDING. ATTENDANCE PROGRESS COSMETOLOGY PROGRAM:
FULL-TIME: MAXIMUM TIME: The time frame a student has to complete to this course is 44.25 weeks at 35 hours per week. The maximum time a student has to complete the program is 67.5 weeks (150% of the minimum). If a student does not complete the program in the maximum time frame all financial assistance will be discontinued and any balances will be the responsibility of the student. The student will be terminated from the program and will be permitted to re-enroll on a cash-pay basis. They will be responsible for all fees not covered by previous financial assistance and any other fees associated with re-enrollment.
ATTENDANCE: Full-time students must attend at least 25.25 hours per week (67% attendance) to be considered making satisfactory progress and to complete the course within the maximum time frame.
NOTE: The contracted length of the 1500-hour Cosmetology Course for students attending 33.5 hours per week is 49.25 weeks. This allows the student 4.5 weeks of absences and he or she will not be charged. However, any student not completing the course within 49.5 weeks will be charged $10.00 per hour of additional instruction needed to complete the hours/course.
PART-TIME: MAXIMUM TIME: The time frame a student has to complete to complete this course is 59.5 weeks at 25.5 hours per week. The maximum time a student has to complete the program is 89.25 weeks (150% of the minimum). If a student does not complete the program in the maximum time frame. all financial assistance with be discontinued and any balances will be the responsibility of the student. The student will be terminated from the program and will be permitted to re-enroll on a cash-pay basis. They will be responsible for all fees not covered by previous financial assistance and any other fees associated with re-enrollment.

AFTERNOON PART-TIME
MAXIMUM TIME: The time frame the student has to complete the program is 68 weeks based on 22 hours per week. The maximum time a student has to complete the program is 102.25 weeks (150% of the minimum). If a student does not complete the program in the maximum time frame. all financial assistance with be discontinued and any balances will be the responsibility of the student. The student will be terminated from the program and will be permitted to re-enroll on a cash-pay basis. They will be responsible for all fees not covered by previous financial assistance and any other fees associated with re-enrollment.

NIGHT-TIME ATTENDANCE:
MAXIMUM TIME: The time frame a student has to complete this course is 103 weeks based on 14.5 hours per week. The maximum time a student has to complete the program is 154 weeks. (150% of minimum). If a student does not complete the program in the maximum time frame. all financial assistance with be discontinued and any balances will be the responsibility of the student. The student will be terminated from the program and will be permitted to re-enroll on a cash pay bases. They will be responsible for all fees not covered by previous financial assistance and any other fees associated with re-enrollment.
ATTENDANCE: Night-time students must attend at least 11.5 hours per week (67% attendance) in order to be considered making satisfactory progress. And to complete the course within the maximum time frame.
NOTE: The contracted length a student has to complete a 1500-hour cosmetology course for attending is 14.5 hours per week 114 weeks This provides the student with 10 weeks of absences for which he/she will not be charged. However, any student not completing the course within 114 weeks will be charged $10.00 per hour of additional instruction needed to complete the course. Up to 10% can be completed online through distance learning.

FULL-TIME: MAXIMUM TIME: The time a student has to complete to complete this is 30 weeks based on 33.5 hours per week. The maximum time a student has to complete the program is 45 weeks (150% of the minimum time frame) If a student does not complete the program in the maximum time frame. all financial assistance with be discontinued and any balances will be the responsibility of the student. The student will be terminated from the program and will be permitted to re-enroll on a cash-pay basis. They will be responsible for all fees not covered by previous financial assistance and any other fees associated with re-enrollment.

The maximum time a student has to complete the program is 58.5 weeks (150% of the minimum) If a student does not complete the program in the maximum time frame. all financial assistance with be discontinued and any balances will be the responsibility of the student. The student will be terminated from the program and will be permitted to re-enroll on a cash-pay basis. FULL-TIME: MAXIMUM TIME: The time frame a student has to complete is 10.5 weeks. The maximum time a student has to complete the program is 15.75 weeks.(150% of the minimum time frame) If a student does not complete the program in the maximum time frame. all financial assistance with be discontinued and any balances will be the responsibility of the student. The student will be terminated from the program and will be permitted to re-enroll on a cash pay bases. NIGHT TIME MAXIMUM TIME: The time frame a student has to complete to complete is 43.5 weeks based on 14.5 hours per week. The maximum time a student has to complete the program is 64 weeks (150% of time frame). If a student does not complete the program in the maximum time frame. all financial assistance with be discontinued and any balances will be the responsibility of the student. The student will be terminated from the program and will be permitted to re-enroll on a cash-pay basis. They will be responsible for all fees not covered by previous financial assistance and any other fees associated with re-enrollment.

ACADEMIC PROGRESS
The following factors will be measured to determine academic progress:

Theory work will be graded according to the following scale:

Students must maintain a minimum of 80% in theory work and 3 in practical/clinic work in order to be considered making satisfactory progress.
ATTENDANCE STANDARD
Students must attend at least 67% of the actual hours to attend based on the student’s enrollment agreement. A student’s attendance pace is determined by the following formula:
Cumulative clock hours of actual attendance as of the evaluation date
Cumulative clock hours of scheduled attendance as of the evaluation date
For example, a student who is enrolled for 30 clock hours per week for 20 weeks would have a cumulative scheduled attendance of 600 clock hours. If the student attended 450 of the 600 scheduled hours, his/her attendance pace would be 75.0% (450/600) and would be meeting the attendance requirements of this policy.
DETERMINATION OF PROGRESS
Evaluations of progress will be on actual time completed. They will be conducted by the Director of Education at approximately the following intervals in the program. 900 hours is considered to be an academic year.
Cosmetology 1500 hours
450 clock hours and 14 weeks,
900 clock hours and 28 weeks
1200 clock hours and 38 weeks
1500 clock hours and 56 weeks (the academic year is 900 hours 600 would be year 2)
Nail Technology Program

In cases where the student is not contracted for the full term of the course the first evaluation will be no later than the midpoint of the contracted time.
Students not meeting expectations will meet with the Director to discuss a plan to bring them back to Satisfactory. The Student will sign the evaluation and copies of the evaluations will be given to the student at each of the evaluation periods. Student’s progress and attendance are tracked on a cumulative basis throughout the programs.
Satisfactory: Students with a minimum of 80% average in theory work and 3 in practical/clinic work, and at least 67 % in attendance. The maximum time frame during which a student is to complete any course is 150% of the published course length.
If a student is meeting or exceeding the minimum requirements in academics and attendance at the time of official evaluation, he or she shall be considered to be in SAP until the next scheduled official evaluation.
WARNING: If the student is below the minimum standards at the time of official evaluation, he or she will be notified and placed on Financial Aid Warning until the next scheduled evaluation. During the Financial Aid Warning period, a student continues to be eligible for financial aid (if applicable). Students who are determined to be below the SAP standards at the next scheduled evaluation period shall be ineligible to receive financial aid.
PROBATION: Probation occurs when a student appeals their loss of eligibility and has their eligibility reinstated. Probation status lasts for one payment period during which the student my continue to receive FSA funds. Conditions my be established that the student must meet by the end of the probationary period. Students who fail to make SAP, or meet the established conditions, at the end of the probation period lose their eligibility for funding Students who fail to meet minimum requirements for attendance or academic progress after the Warning period will be notified and placed on Probation and considered to be making satisfactory academic progress while during the probationary period,
RE-ESTABLISHMENT OF STATUS: Students may re-establish satisfactory academic progress and Title IV aid, as applicable, by meeting minimum attendance and academic requirements by the end of the probationary period.
APPEAL PROCESS: All students have a right to appeal a negative determination. Students who are terminated after failing to achieve minimum requirements may appeal this determination. The student must submit a written appeal within 10 days of the determination of unsatisfactory progress to the Director of Education. Examples of reasons for which a student may appeal are the death of a relative, an injury or illness to the student loss of employment. The student’s appeal must document the unusual or mitigating circumstances that caused the student to fail to meet the institution’s standards as well as provide information regarding what conditions have changed that would demonstrate that the student could regain satisfactory academic progress standards during the probationary period. . The institution will review the student’s appeal and related documentation within 5 days of receipt of the written appeal and its resulting decision will be final.
In the event the student submits a successful appeal and is granted probation, federal student aid eligibility will be reinstated for the subsequent payment period only. Determination and supportive documents will be kept in the student’s file.
LEAVES OF ABSENCE
The Director must approve all requests for leave of absence. All requests must be submitted in advance in writing to the Director. No verbal request will be accepted unless an unforeseen circumstance prevent the student from complying with the policy.
An equal amount of days taken will be added to extend students the contract and maximum time frame by the same number of days taken in the leave of absence
A student returning from leave withdrawal or other official interruption of training must return to school I the same satisfactory progress as before their departure.
If a student does not return from a leave of absence at the agreed-upon date the last day of attendance will be considered the withdrawal date.
TRANSFER HOURS: Transfer hours that are accepted by the school are counted as both attempted and completed hours for the purpose of determining when the allowable maximum time frame has been exhausted. SAP evaluations are then based on actual contracted hours at the institutions. Any transfer hours are added at the end of the term.
WITHDRAWALS/COURSE INCOMPLETE: Any student who withdraws from his/her contracted course or fails to complete his/her training will have a notice placed in his/her student file as to progress at the point of withdrawal.
REPETITION: A student returning from withdrawal or other official interruption of training must return to school I the same satisfactory progress as before their departure.
A student making satisfactory progress at the point of withdrawal may apply for re-enrollment in the school and will be considered to be making satisfactory progress at the point of re-entry. A student failing to meet minimum satisfactory requirements at the point of withdrawal, upon reentry will remain at that status until the next evaluation period when they will be reevaluated.
Non-credit incompletes, repetitions, and remedial courses have no effect on a student’s satisfactory progress status in this school.
Ms. Roberts Beauty Academy will charge a registration fee of $175.00 for students transferring in or re-entry more than 30 days after withdrawal. The tuition rates current at the time of re-entry will apply to the balance of training hours needed for students who re-enroll more than 30 days after the formal withdrawal date unless mitigating circumstances apply.
